WE ARE TOLD IN SCRIPTURE TO “GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO ALL CREATION.” (MARK 16:15)
IN 2 TIMOTHY 4:5 THE APOSTLE PAUL CHARGES US TO EVANGELIZE THE WORLD. A PRACTICAL WAY TO CARRY OUT THIS GREAT COMMISSION IS TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR Mission and OUTREACH MINISTRY. HERE ARE A FEW WAYS WE REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY.

The Dictionary Project
Distributes dictionaries to all third graders in Bay City ISD. “The goal of this program is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn.” www.dictionaryproject.org
Diaper Disciples
A vibrant Diaper Disciple Ministry. Since its inception in 2014, we have given nearly half a million diapers to families in Matagorda County.

Support the ministry to the Port of Houston by participating in the Christmas Gift Box Program at the Seafarer’s Center. Christmas boxes are given to the seafarers to remind them at Christmastime they are not forgotten or ignored, even though they are on a ship far from home.

Support Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child with shoebox gifts. “Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.” www.samaritanspurse.org

Host Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) Matagorda County Chapter ESL Classes.
MISSION STATEMENT: Through the use of volunteers, LVA-Matagorda County will promote and foster confidential and free instruction of English to those individuals whose native language is not English.
Literacy is one of the most important skills for an individual to possess. Literacy helps individuals become an advocate for themselves and their children and become more productive, engaged and enriched members of our community. LVA provides one on one, small group, and computer-based tutoring.
LVA meets at First Presbyterian Church on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:30 – 11:30 AM.
