Mission And Outreach

WE ARE TOLD IN SCRIPTURE TO “GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO ALL CREATION.” (MARK 16:15)

IN 2 TIMOTHY 4:5 THE APOSTLE PAUL CHARGES US TO EVANGELIZE THE WORLD. A PRACTICAL WAY TO CARRY OUT THIS GREAT COMMISSION IS TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR Mission and OUTREACH MINISTRY. HERE ARE A FEW WAYS WE REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY.

The Dictionary Project

Distributes dictionaries to all third graders in Bay City ISD.“The goal of this program is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn.”  www.dictionaryproject.org/

Diaper Disciples

A vibrant Diaper Disciple Ministry. Since its inception in 2014 we have given nearly a quarter million diapers to families in Matagorda County.

Support the Ministry to the Port of Houston by participating in the Christmas Gift Box Program at the Seafarer’s Center. Christmas boxes are given to the seafarers to remind them that, at Christmastime they are not forgotten or ignored, even though they are on a ship far from home.

Support Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child with Shoebox gifts. “Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.” www.samaritanspurse.org

LVA meets at First Presbyterian Church Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30am to 11:30am.
